Selby was supposed to be the one to save her. But she was not. For a long time, Aileen Wuornos survived through prostitution. And then one night, when she was in a bar, she met Selby, and they fell in love. Aileen was ready to do anything to protect their love... And "anything" could be sometimes : killing.

1/Aileen meeting Selby :
Just before the meeting , Aileen was struggling with the idea of suiciding. That's because she has been lonely and broke for a long time (she was a hooker since the age of 15) ... Selby seemed to be the hero who's gonna save her. But was she ? Thing went wrong when a guy named Richard Mallory (age 51) tried to rape her. In a matter of life and death, Aileen had no other choice but killing him. Aileen won't accept to die, at least not now, after meeting Selby.
2/I shot him alright ! :
Determined to straighten out her life, she tries to find legitimate work but with little education and limited social skills, she fails at every turn. She starts working as a hooker hitching rides along the local interstate highway and after robbing a few clients she had an encounter with a vicious client whom she kills in self-defense. After that however she started killing clients to take their money and cars.
3/What god wants :
Aileen:It's not what you think it is, alright ?
Selby:No i know what it is.
Aileen:No, you don't know my life, Selby! And i've done everything in the whole wide world hoping that you'll never have to know. So that you can go on thinking that people are good and kind and that all should make since, you know ? Cause i love that about you Sel.
Selby:No, i don't wanna here this Leen. We can be as different as we wanna be but you can't kill people.
Aileen:Says who ?!! I'm good with lord, i'm fine with him. And i know how people fucking think out there, and fuck it's gonna be that way. They gonna tell you that you should not kill and all that. But that's not the way the world works, cause i'm out there every fucking day living it. Who the fuck knows, what god want ?!!
4/The last victim:
The last one was the hardest one to kill.He was a good man, he suggested to help her for free. So she planned not to kill him. But he accidentally saw her gun. And for that she couldn't let him live.Aileen struggled really hard before having the power to shot him.
Aileen: [Aileen has reluctantly forced a man into the woods after he discovered that she has a gun] I can't...
Horton: You don't have to. You're just having a hard time.
Aileen: No! I can't let you live!
Horton: Oh God... my wife... my wife... my daughter's having a baby.
Aileen: SHUT THE FUCK UP! Oh God... oh God I'm sorry...
[She shoots him]
5/The end :
Saying goodbye to each other, Charlize Theron just did an iconic performance. If you watch this scene then you will easily cry.
After leaving Aileen, Selby did what Aileen would never do. She told the police everything. This conversation they had on the phone (while Aileen was in the prison) shows not only how weak Selby was, but also how good and strong person Aileen was. Because she accepted what Sel did, and she kept expressing her love till the last minute they was talking.
The way Aileen Wuornos lead her life, she simply didn't have the choice.From this movie we learn, that sometimes life don't give the choice, neither do people.
Aileen: Life is funny... it's hard. But it's also strange, how things can be so different than you think. I remember I was just a kid in before age club. Set up this beautiful gigantic red and yellow ferris wheel. It lit up to nite sky. They called it. the Monster.
